| Summary: | The aim of this paper is to analyze recent news about journalism, from approaches made on the subject in some editions of the Carta Capital magazine between the months September 2009 and March 2011. In light of the critical political economy of communication, we treat since the classic function of journalism to its industrialization process, coming to recent changes in new media, including the creation of Wikileaks. In this way, we address the growth of media conglomerates in the world, some political issues reported by the Brazilian national press and the real possibility of risk to freedom of expression in Brazil. |
