description | In this paper, a partially overlapped near user non-orthogonal multiple access (P-N-NOMA) scheme is proposed in which the signal of near user is partially overlapped rather than a complete overlapping as in conventional NOMA (C-NOMA). This research investigates the option of improving the far user rate, and the proposed P-N-NOMA scheme ensures the better far user rate as compare to C-NOMA. In particular, P-N-NOMA reduces the disparity in the rates of near and far users and hence, can be used where both users have significant rate requirement. In this research work, the closed-form expressions of sum-rate and outage probability are derived for P-N-NOMA system over the generalized η-μ fading channel. The performance of P-N-NOMA is compared with that of C-NOMA and orthogonal multiple access (OMA) schemes. The proposed scheme achieves fairer rate allocation to both near and far users as compare to C-NOMA. The Analytical results are verified with the simulation results. |
