Summary: | SiCf/SiC ceramic matrix composites are the ideal materials for high-temperature components of a new generation of advanced aero-engine with their excellent properties, such as low density, high temperature resistance, high specific strength. In order to realize the reliable application of SiCf/SiC composites in service environment, it is urgent to carry out the characterization research on mechanical behavior of the composites. Compared with other testing methods, such as extensometers and strain gauges, digital image correlation (DIC) has the advantages of non-contact, full-field measurement and strong operability. It can realize in-situ characterization of mechanical behaviors such as damage and fracture of composite materials in complex coupling environments, which has received extensive attention. In this paper, the application progress of DIC in tensile, bending, blasting and other mechanical tests of SiCf/SiC composites at room temperature are systematically reviewed and summarized. And the progress of high-temperature measurement via DIC in mechanical loading process of SiCf/SiC composites is introduced in detail. Finally, the DIC characterization technology of SiCf/SiC composites is summarized and prospected, which provides a basis for performance optimization and engineering application of SiCf/SiC composites.
