description The conception of the equivalent silent chain plate is proposed,the meshing relations between the inner-outer compound meshing silent chain and involute sprocket are analyzed. The correct form of silent chain plate inner profile for meshing with the sprocket involute profile is pointed out,the optimization design method of silent chain plate inner profile based on the secondary variation is proposed. The multi-body dynamics models of silent chain transmission system are established,and the silent chain transmission system based on different design methods is compared and analyzed. The results show that the optimization design of inner-outer compound meshing silent chain plate inner profile based on the secondary variation could effectively reduce the polygon effect and meshing impact of silent chain transmission system.
