Summary:The article describes the terminology of the Russian language teaching methods from the perspective of lexical and semantic possibilities of the term. It is about the peculiarities of language motivation of terms, as well as about such paradigmatic relations as the phenomena of hyponymy, polysemy, synonymy and antonymy of terms. The description of these linguistic phenomena in the terminological system of the Russian language teaching methods is presented in comparison with the units of the natural language: significant differences and similarities are shown. Language for special purposes, being an integral part of the vocabulary of the literary language, reveals subordination to General language trends, differences are due to the desire of the language of science to accuracy, uniqueness and unambiguity. Accounting for systemic relations of terms in vocational training of studentsphilologists allows you to comprehend the place of the term in the system of methodical science, makes a conscious assimilation of the course methods of teaching the Russian language.
