Only five species of this genus have previously been recorded from the Korean fauna: S. atricornis (Meigen), S. brunneipennis Czerny, S. nartschukella Gorodkov, S. rubida Coquillett, and S. lineitergum Pandellé. In the course of a revisionary survey of the heleomyzid flies of Korea, the authors found two species for the first time in Korea: S. bicolor (Zetterstedt, 1838) and S. oldenbergii (Czerny).
