Summary:The nature, throughout the time, comes being depredated for a logic of production and consumption that leads to the exploration of the work force and to the wastefulness of the natural resources. This article, from the materialistic conception and dialectic of the nature, approaches the controversial quarrel on development and ambient protection, searching to demonstrate that the ecological question is not antropocentrism versus ecocentrism, but co-evolution and sustainable development. Beyond examining philosophical the theses materialistic that, taken root on the thinkers of the Renaissance, since century XIX, base the ecological debate, the text present the change of the current model of indispensable development as measured to assure the production of wealth with generation of jobs, valuation of the work and ambient preservation.
