Summary: | Introduction: Because of its anatomical location and function it is likely that some damage (e.g. strain or (partial) rupture) to the PA could occur in multiligamentous knee injury caused by valgus stress, but it could be obscured due to larger distracting pathologies. To our knowledge, this report is the first to describe a case of multiligamentous knee injury with additional Pes Anserinus rupture and displacement towards intra-articular and its surgical management.Case report: We present a rare case of multiligamentous knee injury with an additional intra-articular displacement of the Pes Anserinus. The surgical intervention consisted of augmented medial collateral ligament repair, re-insertion of the Pes Anserinus, and at a later stage, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Conclusion: Pes Anserinus rupture is uncommon and has not yet been described in relation to multiligamentous knee injury. There is a lack of evidence-based literature regarding its therapeutic management and functional outcomes. In the presented case we successfully have used a direct surgical approach because of the intra-articular positioning of the Pes Anserinus.
