Summary:The aim of this study was to investigate correlation between spinal and femoral bone mineral density (BMD) measured by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) and age in women patients. 530 women who admitted to the osteoporosis unit of our hospital were included in the study retrospectively. Spinal and femoral bone density were measured by DEXA. Pearson’s correlation analysis was used. Negative correlation was assessed between age and spinal L2-4 and femoral (neck and wards) BMD. Correlation coefficiency was highest in femoral wards r=-0.527. Correlation coefficiency in spinal L2-4 was r=-0.397 and in femoral neck was r=-0.163. Positive correlation between spinal L2-4 and femoral neck BMD T scores were assessed.
