Description
Summary:Aim - to evaluate the effectiveness of radiofrequency ablation cavotricuspid of the isthmus in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2, and typical atrial flutter, as well as to identify the factors of recurrence of atrial flutter after the procedure. The study involved 100 patients with DM and atrial flutter who underwent radiofrequency ablation. 22 of them had recurrences of atrial flutter during the year, which often occurred in patients with chronic kidney disease and post-infarction cardiosclerosis. Recurrences of atrial flutter is also frequently observed in patients with decompensated DM. Radiofrequency ablation has often been ineffective in females and patients older than 75 years. Recurrence of atrial flutter after radiofrequency ablation is more often associated with decompensation and severity of DM.
