Description
Summary:We present a rare case of an infected stent graft in a venous bypass. A 79-year-old male patient who underwent previous venous bypass surgery was treated with a Viabahn stent graft for aneurysmal dilatation of this bypass. Three years later the patient was admitted in our clinic with infection of the stent graft. He was treated with resection of the infected stent graft and restoration of blood flow using a 100% biological prosthesis as an interposition conduit.Infected stent grafts are rare. In this case report we provide an overview of the available literature. Like in most cases, our patient was treated with excision of the stent graft and arterial reconstruction.
