As a space open towards all inhabited areas of the world, Europe was the place where for centuries the most different cultures met each other, mixed, and waged wars. A society characterised by peaceful co-existence and harsh conflicts was forged, where religion, culture, ethnic groups, ideology, race and mentality created differences between the peoples.
