Description
Summary:We present the formation of a productive type of discursive markers formed from the VerboLocativo constructional scheme, constituting the VLocMD construction. We analyzed the constructionalization route of the example vem aqui in order to map the formation the category of markers. Along the way, we examined the use of this exemplary marker through contexts of use, according to Diewald and Smirnova (2012), combining the identification of levels of schematicity this microconstruction assumes and the performance of semantic-pragmatic motivations in the linguistic change detected. We sought the analysis data in electronic corpora, using the construction model of Croft (2001) and the systematization postulated by Traugott (2008) to account for the multidimensionality of the phenomenon. The results demonstrate the relevance of items in the formation of the form-meaning pair and the distribution by verbal types suggests specificity in the patterns of use of the category of markers.
