| Summary: | The present study identifies the influence of a series of factors in order to determine operating freight rates for soybeans originally grown in the States of Goiás, Mato Grosso and Paraná, during the high seasons of 1998 to 2000 and low seasons of 1998/1999 to 2000/2001. From a multiple linear regression model, results have shown, in higher or lower degree, that the variables related to distance, number of tolls, unloading time at ports, seasonal demand for transport, quality conditions of the highways, influenced differently the rates of the freights in these states, during the periods of high and low seasons.
