| description | The paper presents research regarding the attitude of the population of Vojvodina towards living in Novi Sad. The conditions of diverse and powerful transformation of our society during the last fifteen years provoked a change regarding the meaning of center and the periphery. At that, within a community a living takes place the structural characteristics of which are in many ways marked by difficult daily routine. It is precisely the signs of daily living that produce the picture of the living place and which constitute the precondition to move somewhere else. As it has been known through a rather long period, in a pyramidal network of towns as was created in Vojvodina, the hierarchy of administrative, economic, political and cultural characters have formed certain systems of values, this occasion was used to check the extent to which they have survived. Hypothetic advantage of living in Novi Sad in comparison to other cities in Serbia was empirically tested. The results gathered speak in favor of an even stronger influence of urban places onto the total life quality in Vojvodina, and simultaneously of an exceptionally strong influence of Novi Sad. Also, it has been verified that there is a significant shutting off of the population of Vojvodina towards other towns in the Republic. |
