This study endeavors to trace the tools and techniques which El-Messiri utilizes in his different works. His book: “My Intellectual Journey: Seeds, Roots and Fruits: A Non-subjective, Non-objective Autobiography” has been chosen as a fundamental work to start with, since this piece of writing is intended to pass on both the methodological and intellectual experiences that El-Messiri adopted through his life. The study was keen on opening up to other writings of El-Messiri, and noticed that he was a thinker and literary critic, whose intellectual project has never been separated from his literary critical one, since the critical methodology that a writer follows is by no mean separable from the ideology that reveals his/her worldview.
