| description | The National Policy for Health Promotion (PNaPS) was implemented in 2006 with the purpose of as-sisting the campaign to combat non-communicable diseases together with the Unified Health System (SUS). As of 2014, it was reformulated and had the insertion of programs focused on sedentarism, smoking and poor diet, aiming to help promote the quality of life of the Brazilian population. The aim of this research was analyzing health promotion programs, especially the Academy of Health and Healthy Life programs, in order to identify the public policy offer in this area, its organization and target audience assisted. This is a bibliographical and documentary research. The results indicate that the health promotion programs in Brazil are feasible for improving the health status of social subjects; however, it is necessary to increase the control of the public media regarding the organization, financ-ing and insertion of professionals linked to the work of each offered program in this policy. |
