The taxonomic position of the Ctenostylidae (= Lochmostyliinae; Diptera: Schizophora)
It is shown that Ctenostylidae Bigot (1882) is a valid senior synonym of Lochmostylidae Hendel (1935). The morphology of the Ctenostylidae is considered and compared with the Pyrgotidae.
