description The adoption of more efficient farming practices and technologies that increase agricultural productivity are crucial to achieving food security and poverty alleviation goals as well as economic development in sub-Sahara Africa-SSA (Abdulai & Huffman 2014). Nevertheless, empirical evidence indicates that adoption and use of new agricultural technologies in SSA is very low (Pingali 2012; 2007). Over the years, the puzzle of low agricultural technology adoption and failure of the Asian green revolution in SSA has become a major policy and research problem. The empirical literature on agricultural technology adoption has sought to explain reasons for low adoption. Among other things, factors such as SSA farmers’ perspectives, knowledge, cultures, information constraints, and other socio-economic factors have emerged.
