description Magnetic resonance constitutes the ideal exam in patients with clinical presumption of tumors in the selar region, because it doesn't emit ionizing radiations and due to its multiplanar vision and tissular discrimination, it facilitates the adoption of an appropriate therapeutic behavior and a follow up without risks in these cases. The images obtained with that technique on the main selar tumors are described, corresponding to hypophysary macroadenomas, intraselar meningioma, supraselar craneopharyngioma and as an interesting case belonging to this region: the clivus chordoma, for having better diagnostic possibilities at the present time than in previous decades.
