Description
Summary:This article is devoted to the study of cognitive strategies used by native Russian-speakers in the recognition of Korean phraseological units containing a somatic component. The experimental material is represented by Korean idioms literally translated into Russian. The use of this technique is based on the notion that the phraseologization of similar phenomena in different languages can be materialized by one scenario, which, in turn, is caused due to cross-language interlingual imagery, emerging in the conceptual area of multilingual natives. It was revealed that when trying to determine the value of the proposed expressions, informants lean on their own cultural identity: gestures, Russian stable expression of superstition, behavioral norms. The analysis of experimental data makes it possible to find similarities and differences not only in the language but also in the cultures of the two nations and their system of values.
