The article presents a variant telling of Johannes Lassenius, a Lutheran pastor at the German church in Copenhagen, who is said to have woken his congregation by juggling with his handkerchief in the pulpit. Both Lassenius' possible sources and the later transmission of the story about his juggling are discussed. |
