Summary:In Ecuador, a process of productive transformation is sought that allows progress towards greater growth and equity, which are tasks that depend on the human capital of the countries, the ability of people to solve new problems through the exercise of knowledge, skills and acquired skills that increase their productivity and quality of life. In the leather and footwear industry of the province of Tungurahua, it is necessary to increase organizational effectiveness in a way that contributes to the development of strategies in the change of the productive matrix, for which the measurement and management of intellectual capital is set as an objective of the sector. The research is non-experimental, mixed and descriptive - explanatory. The most relevant results are presented according to the perspective of customers, e mployees and business owners.
