Description
Summary:The General Data Protection Regulation entered into force in 2018 changed the way in which the rights and freedoms of the data subjects who release their personal data are conceived. All research environments and above all the research disciplines involving human beings, from historic and social to medical research, are dealing with this European law. Cultural and social anthropology, characterized by methods such as field work, ethnography, participatory observation, often involved in information and social criticism tasks, shapes its space in the folds of a regulation whose applicative practices are conceived for other disciplinary fields. The text analyzes the issue from various angles, highlighting issues anthropologists may have to face defending the epistemology of discovery of their research.
