Description
Summary:The meanings of words from a dictionary, especially when it is a dictionary recognized, gain more importance as the effects of senses, formed from the view of the lexicographer and society. Like others, the love and erotic words express, in addition to shared meaning by members of the same language, the point of view of a society and the author who describes them as entries in his work. We cut out the Aurelio Junior Dictionary (2011) the entries love and erotic, which are described and analyzed from the perspective of Discourse Analysis (ORLANDI, 1999, 2000; MACHADO, 2009) and the theoretical perspective of Lexicography Discourse (NEVES, 1996; PONTES, 2009), the field of lexicography whose research focus discourses produced by the dictionary. The lexicographical research under a discursive vision sees in the words of a speech beyond the speech itself. That said we justify our work as important because it is the discourse produced in facing dictionary for elementary school students, these speeches, usually taken as ideologically neutral by common consultant. To form our conclusions we ask: Witch interpretations is the student able to take from the effects of meanings generated by the meanings shown in these entries.
