Description
Summary:This article looks at the language used by French engineers involved in militant organisations to express the ecological cause. While the delimitation of the problem taken up is part of a diagnosis shaped by the authorities and scientific cause builders, the explanation of the causal chains of responsibility and the claims in terms of carbon frugality give rise to interpretative divergences shared between a technical vision presented as disencumbered from the social space and a critical political apprehension of social and economic structures. The interest in the circulation of language allows us to highlight a process of politicisation at work in the militant formulations. This process is established according to two distinct modalities, depending on the one hand on the perception schemes integrated during the primary socialization and on the other hand on the biographical experience of ordeals generating phases of latency.
