Summary:Beyond the etymological connection between breath and poetic inspiration, the Spanish poet Antonio Colinas explores the relationship between this two functions in his literary essays and his poetry too. This research aims to show how the breath originates and allows certain kind of poetic creation that aims to achieve harmony between man and the world. In order to do that, the rhythm as a common element, the phenomenological perception of nature and aroma as a materialisation of breathing are studied.
