Summary:This article is about the power of the transmission and maintenance of the psychic suffering through three generations of a family, based upon the transgenerational approach. A patient individually assisted by her analyst allow us to retrace the trans-historical heritage that takes effect in his family. His analysis revealed that his suffering was stuck in the pre-history of his family members. The psychoanalytical method of the inconscient elements apprehension provides the basis to the present study of a theory review illustrated by a clinical case. Some verbal constructions of his family serve as a resource to examine the defensive use of the representations and affections, in order to keep his mental suffering. This is related to the difficulty of representational system to represent traumatic transgenerational situations. Concepts of many authors have provided theory basis to ideas of the author.
