Description
Summary:Amputations due to animal bites in neonates are rare. In this report, we present a case of a female neonate with below elbow amputation of right upper limb due a dog bite treated initially with adequate debridement of the wound, followed by intravenous antibiotic therapy and regular dressings. Neglect and female gender bias in the Indian subcontinent, especially in rural areas, are a few points we have also discussed in this case.
