Description
Summary:Public Art, works installed in public or private spaces, but visible to passers-by, is present in the most different places in Brazil and in the world. Florianópolis has a collection of more than three hundred works distributed in different neighborhoods, produced at different periods by dozens of artists. Believing in the importance of valuing and using this collection in Arts classes, this text seeks to reflect on some issues that involve the theme, which is being the empirical object of a doctoral thesis entitled “Public Art and Educational Action: student interactions with the collection of the Municipality of Florianópolis”.
