description In the story of every nation, there are valuable people who have been influential with their studies in various fields and with the ways they have opened. In this respect, there are many people in Turkish history who have been taken as an example even today and who are a source of pride owing to their works. One of those people is Seyfettin Özege, who is an exceptional man of culture, a book scholar and bibliographer and who devoted a large part of his 80-year-life to books and bibliography studies and took the task of transferring Turkish culture to future generations with the publications he collected, the precious library he created and the bibliography he prepared. In 1961 Seyfettin Özege, who also attracted attention as a bibliomaniac, donated the publications he had accumulated for many years to Atatürk University under certain circumstances which was founded recently. One of the conditions of the donation was the preparation and publication of a catalog of the publications that he donated. Thus, this study explores Seyfettin Özege's life, his point of view of the books, the donation process of the books to Atatürk University and especially his works about book collection. Also, it aims to reveal what the philosophy of Özege reflects and includes. In the study, it was concluded that Özege's collection and bibliography, created as a result of Özege's efforts in accordance with his bibliography philosophy, has an important position in Turkish culture and history.
