Summary: | The purpose of this paper is to analyze the cultural study entitled Dubrovačke slike i prilike (1880 - 1880) written by Josipa Bersa, which deals with the post-republic nineteenth-century history of -Dubrovnik, with a view to considering this text in cultural and political context. Two texts are taken into consideration: the first one about Sir Ivan Stojanović, published by Bersa in Serbian Literary -Magazine and the same text which is, on the author's own initiative, integrated in the latter book, published posthumously by Matica Hrvatska. By means of the textual analysis and the comparative study of the two texts in question, the paper seeks to highlight the problem of changing the original text, resulting from the publisher's possible -cultural policy impact. This paper brings into question the integrity of Bersa's study, written with the aim of preserving the particular -cultural identity of Dubrovnik. |
