| description | In recent years, one of the current issues for the Russian Federation is the problem of transition from the resource-based economic model to the innovative model of economic growth. An important role in this transition is given to information and communication technologies. Russian government has set a strategic goal to become a leader in the development of ICT. To accomplish this task, the government has created a number of programs and strategies to stimulate the development of information technology. The main aim of this article is to examine the current situation of ICT development in the Russian Federation and identify its major trends. The analysis in this paper allows us to say that the current situation in Russia can be evaluated as good. In spite of problems, which were highlighted, almost all observed indicators show a stable positive dynamics. In conclusion, we note that despite the problems in Russia there is great potential in the field of information and communication technology. |
