Description
Summary:Applied linguistics, as an implantation of linguistic theories in the classrooms was early abandoned. However, the contribution of linguistics to didactics can be reconsidered differently, through a concept that can bring those disciplines together: the value of applicability, defined as the ability of a linguistic theory to be more or less transposable for learning and teaching. To illustrate this, after having examined the grammatical theories about definite and indefinite articles included in some grammars of FFL, we will analyse the value of applicability of five linguistic theories on this subject, in order to open the way for the renewal of the grammar contents proposed to learners of French as a Foreign Language.
