description Sociological investigation of individuals weakened by a social disqualification presents singular issues and requires appropriate skills. These ones are built by experiences of nearness that confronts the researcher to non-familiar moral frameworks, which expose him to emotions, misunderstandings, and conflicts. This article focuses on identifying these experiences, as well as it locates the major adaptation strategies used by conventional frameworks of a sociological investigation. It will highlight recognition processes that occur during an “open investigation” that aims to restore the plurality of the weak actor.
