Summary:The interest in political science education is currently manifested both by the state and by society. The post-material needs of the modern world coupled with the increasing processes of politicization of the main spheres of human life determine the significance of the development of a specific educational direction. The purpose of this article isto identify educational and career guidance trends of Russian leading universities carrying out training in "Political Science". Based on a comparative analysis of 10 educational programs and their curricula in the directions 41.03.04 and 41.04.04, the authors have revealed their differences and unique characteristics. The chronological framework of the study includes 2017-2021: from the date of entry into force of the federal state educational standard 3++ to the present. The authors rely on a number of scientific methods and principles of contemporary political science. The institutional method helped to determine the main state mechanisms and instruments for the implementation and regulation of political science education at universities at the present stage. Qualitative and quantitative content analysis of the websites of higher educational institutions and authorities was used. The main methodological documents of 10 leading universities of Russia in the direction of "Political Science" were analyzed. When analyzing the implementation of individual tools regulating the educational space of Russia, the case study method was applied. The authors emphasize the increasing role of interdisciplinary and innovative approaches, directions, projects ofscientific and educational activities. This trend does not bypass political science, which leads to a symbiotic interaction of political science knowledge with different subject areas and gives a promising impetus to educational projects in the direction of "Political Science", contributing to a qualitative increase in their attractiveness and significance. The results of the research reveal the characteristic trends in the development of political science education in contemporary Russian universities.
