Summary: | Physical activity generates a better cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF). A greater CRF is associated with numerous benefits: lower risk of cardiovascular mortality and all causes, lower risk of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, lower risk of various cancers and a lower risk of unfavorable lipid profile. In this last point, the difficulty of conducting randomized clinical trials of enough magnitude makes the evidence moderate. However, it can be affirmed that the effects of exercise on the lipid profile in type 2 diabetes patients are positive, with a more evident benefit of aerobic and combined exercises and especially when the volume and intensity of exercise are greater. |
