In entrepreneurial society, universities should be innovative as every organization. This research aimed to identify and prioritize accelerators and barriers of entrepreneurial university formation in Iran. The research is applied and descriptive survey. Research population included 2142 lecturers at Shahed, Tehran, and Yazd universities, and 400 individuals were selected as research sample. Based on literature review, a questionnaire was developed and distributed. Data analysis was done using SPSS software and Friedman Test. As a result, 23 factors were identified as accelerators and barriers of entrepreneurial university formation. The highest priority was allocated to individuals’ viewpoint about entrepreneurship as accelerator, and to organizational chart and governance of university as barrier.
