description | Consuming alcoholic drinks is a worldwide practice. The influence of some cultures which establish some practices and
rituals, such as drinking alcoholic drinks – especially distilled ones – in religious ceremonies, birthday celebrations,
funerals, are considered to be traditions strongly rooted in the sociocultural context of many communities. It, therefore,
constitutes a powerful spreader of the alcohol consume among us. It is possible to notice that the countryside
communities’ consuming level of alcohol are concerning, although few discussed. It arose our interest in finding men
and women from that area whose habits and representations made the subject clear, and naturalized the consume, which
goes throughout rituals widely spread in the countryside. Alcoholic drinks are used for multiple purposes (religious,
medicinal, and fun) and it is their daily routine. |
