Cleopatra, or Ariadne Return to a surpassed argument

The iconography of the Hellenistic statue called <em>Sleeping Ariadne</em>, known throw several Roman copies, has been interpreted in various ways from the Renaissance till today. We shall re-examine this set of problems in the context of the ideological evolution.
