Summary: | The authors advance orthography rules for the Maninka of Guinea in Roman script. They suggest solutions to many problems under discussion for many years: spelling of the syllable-final nasal element followed by a consonant; the inventory of the consonants, and some others. Two variants of rules for tone marking, a “light” and a “full” one, are formulated. Special attention is paid to contraction and segmentation. Exhaustive lists of auxiliary morphemes and words are given. |
