Description
Summary:In this paper, plant layouts is designed by considering the influence of the environment, i.e., the variability of demand. It also considers the new Total of Material Handling Cost (TMHC), which captures the inventory carrying costs. Moreover, the comparison between the distributed and the modular layout performance is presented. Those two types of layout are called as the next generation layout. It shows that the modular layout, which is done by using graph theory, i.e., modified Hamiltonian chain, gives flexibility as good as the distributed layout.
