Clinical Psychology: The art of human relations.
Resumen.
Como psicólogos clínicos, es ineludible reconocer como, a pesar de utilizar teorías y métodos, no somos sólo técnicos y nuestros pacientes son más que un conjunto de síntomas descritos en el Manual diagnóstico y estadístico de los trastornos mentales. Es imperioso entender que, en la medida en que el terapeuta sea capaz de mostrar una gran variedad de habilidades basadas en el arte de las relaciones humanas, está contribuyendo a crear un ambiente en que se pueden aplicar, de manera eficaz, las diferentes teorías y métodos de intervención. En este ensayo se desarrollan algunas de las habilidades planteadas por Shakow (1949) ¾conferencia realizada en Boulder¾, las cuales enlazarán la rigurosidad teórica del psicólogo clínico con las relaciones humanas, vínculo que actúa como instrumento decisivo en la relación paciente-terapeuta y en la recuperación de heridas psicológicas.

Abstract.
As clinical psychologists, is inevitable to recognize that, despite the use of theories and methods, we are not just technical and our patients are more than a set of symptoms described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. It is imperative to understand that, to the extent that the therapist is capable of displaying a variety of skills based on the art of human relations, he/she is helping to create an environment where the different theories and intervention methods can be applied effectively. This essay develops some of the skills proposed by Shakow (1949) ¾ conference in Boulder¾, which will link the theoretical rigor of the clinical psychologist with human relations, a bond that acts as a crucial instrument in the patient-therapist relation and the recovery from psychological wounds.
