Research progress of microRNAs suppressing tumorigenesis through Hippo signaling

The aberrant activation of yes-associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), downstream effectors of the Hippo signaling pathway, has been implicated in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). The microRNAs (miRNAs) works as a tumor suppressors that influence the prol...

description The aberrant activation of yes-associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ-binding motif (TAZ), downstream effectors of the Hippo signaling pathway, has been implicated in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). The microRNAs (miRNAs) works as a tumor suppressors that influence the proliferation, migration and apoptosis of tumor cells by modulating Hippo-YAP/TAZ signaling during hepatic tumorigenesis. Exploring the role of miRNAs in regulating Hippo YAP/TAZ pathway in HCC can provide new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of HCC.
