We are interested in seeing how the fact that many of them did not return home from exile after the end of the Pinochet dictatorship (1973-1990) impacted political and social organization in our country. We presume that this phenomenon has produced a kind of displacement of their self-representation from exiles to migrants that makes it possible to acknowledge the migratory dimension of exile and thereby constitutes a new type of political being that is binationally committed to transnational political rights. |
