Description
Summary:Urban parks are vital green spaces where people can participate in various activities. A favorable acoustic-visual environment is crucial for satisfaction, and acoustic-visual perception may vary depending on the behavioral state. This study aimed to examine the acoustic-visual perception of people undertaking different behaviors (sitting, walking, and acoustic) and explore the relationship between acoustic and visual perceptions and satisfaction. The study was conducted using questionnaire surveys (N = 1044) in three urban parks in Quanzhou, China. The results showed that (1) respondents undertaking different behaviors had different acoustic-visual perceptions, (2) satisfaction was influenced by acoustic-visual perception, (3) overall satisfaction was influenced by both acoustic and visual satisfaction, and (4) acoustic, visual, and overall satisfaction could be predicted via multiple linear regression. Based on the results and design strategies of this study, a more comfortable activity environment for people in urban parks is proposed.
