PANI-molybdate nanocomposites: Structural, morphological and dielectric properties for the effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications in X-band

Molybdate nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by solution combustion synthesis using Jamun fruit extract as a fuel/surfactant. Polyaniline (PANI), a conducting polymer was prepared freshly using the suitable monomer and polymerizing agents. Using dodesyl benzene sulphonic acid (DBSA) and camphour sulp...

description Molybdate nanoparticles (NPs) were prepared by solution combustion synthesis using Jamun fruit extract as a fuel/surfactant. Polyaniline (PANI), a conducting polymer was prepared freshly using the suitable monomer and polymerizing agents. Using dodesyl benzene sulphonic acid (DBSA) and camphour sulphonic acid (CSA) solvents, NPs were dispersed effectively into the PANI matrix. Prepared samples were characterized and determined their crystalline nature, morphological features and their response to the DC and AC signals at various temperature and frequencies. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding studies were performed using vector network analyzer in the frequency range from 8 to 12 GHz. Comparative studies on the effect of CSA and DBSA solvents were reported. Prepared samples showed very good shielding response of -14 dB with CSA and -12 dB with DBSA which can be further tuned for better results using additional dopants. Prepared samples were proved as good shielding materials in terms of their easy preparation, more stable and environmental friendly. These samples may be used as an excellent electronic device packing materials also.
