Summary:This article describes an exfoliative-cytologic study of the palatal mucosa which is in permanent contact with acrylic of removable appliances prepared by 2 different methods. A total of 100 patients were used in two groups. Removable appliances prepared by “pressure method” were found to have lower reaction ratio on the oral mucosa compared to “non-pressure method”.
