description | The article presents the research of infographic information and analytical productsof scientific libraries. Existing approaches to the use of visual analysis are systematized, scientific infographic products are singled out as a component of modern infographics. The main areas how library could applicate methods and techniques of visual analytics are examined. The projects implemented by V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine analytical divisions using visual analytics tools, are studied. The projects of libraries information and analytical units, based on the application of visual analytics, can be systematized according to the principle of tasks to be solved. Firstly, projectson the analysis of news flows, which allow to determine certain trends of political, economic, social life; secondly, the analysis of foreign mass media publications on Ukrainian topics, and as a result of the monitoring, a preliminary analysis is carried out using the infographic toolkit, and a source base is formed for further research; thirdly, the analysis of the incoming flow of library resources on various subjects. The main visualization tools for analyzed projects - diagrams, graphs, cartograms - make it possible to reveal characteristics that are not obvious wit hout infographic presentation: typical features, trends and anomalies, correlations and relationships. Emphasis is placed on the fundamental differences between didactic and illustrative infographics and infographic products as a result of visualization of information flows of data, graphic models of information analysis. |
