Never in the history of American democracy has an incumbent president failed to acknowledge his defeat or try to prevent the installation of a new president. Under the Trump administration, America was facing a threefold crisis: the humanitarian pandemic crisis; a severe economic crisis, as a result of the pandemic; and the social crisis. No one knows, however, what the long-term effects of the 2020 presidential election will be, and no one knows if an internally threatened democracy can withstand. |
